The Inversion

From the article…

For a period of time in 2013, the Times reported this year, a full half of YouTube traffic was “bots masquerading as people,” a portion so high that employees feared an inflection point after which YouTube’s systems for detecting fraudulent traffic would begin to regard bot traffic as real and human traffic as fake. They called this hypothetical event “the Inversion.”

Evolve or die

I called this a while back. Amazon is getting more into logistics which poses a huge threat to incumbents. A merger between Walmart and FedEx/UPS would be a strong option to fight them off. Logistics and warehousing in place, they will need to figure out ecommerce but its doable. It’s really scary how dominant Amazon is becoming.

USPS and their scanner

I read a tweet a while back saying the USPS was scanning all our mail. I thought that was pretty rad. Turns out it’s true and you can see it first hand. Go to their website, register, and setup Informed Delivery. Here you’ll be able to see mail headed your way. Doesn’t look like they are capturing junk mail. Makes me wonder who is running the spam filter.
